The NHL’s 2008 Stanley Cup Finals began Saturday, May 24 2008 at Joe Lewis Arena in Detroit, Michigan and ended June 7, 2008 in the same venue, face-off at 8:00 p.m. local time.
The underdog Penguins took the championship to seven games. The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Detroit Red Wings on Detroit’s ice to take the 2008 Stanley Cup championship. NHL Prediction: the Pittsburgh Penguins are the winners of the 2008 Stanley Cup.
Stanley Cup competition began in 1893 to name the top hockey team in the Dominion of Canada; it is the oldest professional sports trophy in North America.
