Group A had the teams Iraq, New Zealand, South Africa, and Spain. Group B had teams like Brazil, Egypt, Italy, and USA. The 2009 FIFA Confederation final to determine the results was held at the Coca Cola Park, Johannesburg, South Africa on 28th June, 2009.

In the men’s game it was a very tough call just like always. The No. 1 seed Rafael Nadal had already withdrawn due to injury after the French open. The Wimbledon winners received a prestigious title, as it is one of the major grand slams.

Roger Federer is the winner of 2009 Wimbledon men’s singles. After all the qualifying rounds, the players were tested in every possible way and four deserving men qualified for the semi-finals. It was a neck to neck game of semi-finals between Andy Roddick and Andy Murray. Another game of semi-finals had Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. From these semi-finals, Andy Roddick and Roger Federer qualified for the finals of Wimbledon. Finally after a tough battle between the two, Roger Federer emerged as the winner.

The 2009 Emmy Award Winners for daytime’s shows were announced on 30th August, 2009 live from L.A. All the soap actors were best dressed for the biggest soap awards of the year. The 2009 Emmy award winners had set up a special night to watch for the soap opera fans.

The prestigious outstanding Drama Series Award went to the popular General Hospital. The outstanding lead actor winner was Christian J. LeBlanc as Michael Baldwin in ‘The Young and the Restless’. The outstanding Lead actress award went to Jeanne Cooper for ‘The Young and the Restless’. Then there is the bunch of supporting actors. The best supporting actor winner was William DeVry of ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’. The best supporting actress winner was Julie Pinson of ‘As the World Turns’. The star studded event ended and the fans now await the primetime awards.

The UFC 100 results were out on 10-11 July, 2009. The ring was almost set on fire with the fighters rage. It is the biggest and much awaited events in the martial art history which took place at Mandalay Bay Events Centre, Nevada. The UFC 100 event had number of matches and winners were announced. The UFC 100 results were for two Championship titles on the line. The long-awaited war between Brock Lesner and Frank Mir, and the UFC welterweight Championship of Georges St-Pierre vs. Thiago Alves were full of action.

The UFC heavyweight champion title winner is Brock Lesner. It was simply a jaw-dropping match between him and Frank Mir and Brock Lesner where the defending champion retained the title. The UFC welterweight championship winner was Georges St-Pierre “Rush”. The Ultimate fighter coaches too had a collision in the match-up where Dan Henderson took on Michael “The Count” Bisping. Dan Henderson was the winner for this match.

The results of the 2009 NBA draft were announced on 25th July, 2009 in New York. The best teams and players are on all set to give tough fights to their closest opponents to be named as the NBA draft winners. The players that dominated the basketball field in 2009 are B. J. Mullens from Ohio State, Blake Griffin from Oklahoma, Ricky Rubio from Spain, Demar DeRozan from USC, and Brandon Jennings from the Italy team. These players are the hot picks of the season.

The NBA Final 2009 winner is Blake Griffin. Griffin is the total overwhelming favourite taken first this year. Griffin possibly was even more remarkable in the way he dominated the glass. Griffin emerged the winner undisputedly in spite of neck to neck fight from the players like J.B. Mullens, Brandon Jennings and Ricky Rubio. Griffin has shown consistent play in the recent seasons and emerged as the NBA Draft winner.

All the cricketing action is taking place in England with the ICC T-20 World Cup Series. It started with 12 country teams divided in groups. After all the action-packed T-20 games, we had the two toughest emerging teams. The ICC T-20 finals were held in Lord’s on 21st July, 2009.

The ICC T-20 World Cup Final Winner is Sri Lanka. It was a neck to neck game between South Africa and Sri Lanka, where Sri Lanka won the T-20 champions title. The last years defending champions India were phased out in the Super eight stage itself. Sri Lanka did a great cricket display game after game with tremendous batting and bowling line up and kept the champions title with in the Asian sub-continent.

The stage was set on fire after the announcement of the 20 dancers of So You Think You Can Dance Season 5. It all started with the dazzling show, where all the dancers displayed their unique yet best dancing skills. After all the four action-packed seasons, the season 5 was no different. Some of the dancers like Jeanine Mason, Evan Kasprzak, and Philip Chbeeb super popular and have a great fan following. But the winner takes all.

The winner of So You Think You Can Dance Season 5 is Jeanine Mason. Jeanine Mason had a great partner Philip Chbeeb who also had a good fan following who had a very strong chance of winning but Jeanine with her perfect dance pieces, series after series swept away the show. Well, Jeanine’s contemporary style and flawless moves were just enough to keep her at the top.

The cars are back in action with the beginning of the Formula 1 season. The Santander British Grand Prix scheduled on 21 June 2009 at the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire in England. The Drivers and teams of Renault and Torro Rosso were in a great form after the great finish to the season.

This young driver says that he has a great amount of respect for the fellow drivers like Alonso in spite of strained relations news; indeed a humble and noble winner has just raised the bar higher for the F1 aspirants

The U.S Open finals were held at the Bethpage Black course, on 15th June, 2009. U.S Open has historically always been the toughest major for scoring amongst competitors. This was the 109th edition of U.S. open, and the second one to be played at Bethpage Black course.

Tiger Woods is the winner of the 2009 Golf U.S. open title. He has done it yet again at the same play venue of Bethpage Black course like he did when he won the 2002 title. Tiger was back with a bang after his arthroscopic injury on his knee. The No. 1 ranked PGA player gave a tough fight to the closest opponents too and took away the title being the clear winner unlike 2008 U.S. open’s final which had a deadlock tie.
