The winner of Miss USA 2008 was announced on April 11, 2008 on the beauty pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada.

All the women competing for the Miss USA crown are model-quality with unique talents such as singing or acting. Likewise, they numerous positive character traits such as congeniality and discipline.However, Miss USA 2007 Rachel Smith has only one crown to pass on.
Miss Amy Diaz, a Rhode Island Beauty, had received the honor of being crowned Miss America in 2008. Her major lifetime achievement was her triumph over a major learning disability which did not stop her from receiving a higher education.

Miss Amy Diaz appears very confident yet down to earth in her online interview. She also has quite a stage presence and is dressed for success. It is no wonder she was deemed the most qualified to win.
It could have been one of the other 47 U.S.A. women who are also highly qualified. However, America chose Amy Diaz.
