The BBC television series, “I’d Do Anything,” premiered 15 March 2008 in the United Kingdom. The show ran on Saturday and Sunday nights for several weeks.
The show was created as a reality-based talent search to identify a previously unknown leading lady with star quality to play the role of Nancy in a West End production of the musical “Oliver.”
The show’s format called for viewers to select the winner of the “Nancy” competition. In the final episode, they voiced their preference for 18-year old Jessie, from County Kerry in Ireland. Television talent prediction: the winner for the role of Nancy in I’d Do Anything is Jessie.
A panel of judges chose the winners of other roles, including that of the musical’s namesake character, Oliver.
So it be? Maybe . . .
