The winner of the Hart Memorial Trophy was announced Thursday, 12 June 2008 at the Elgin Theatre in Toronto, Canada.
The nominees for the Hart Memorial Trophy included Jarome Iginla of the Calgary Flames, Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins, and Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals.
The winner of the 2008 Hart Memorial Trophy was Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Hockey award prediction: Evgeni Malkin is the winner of the 2008 Hart Memorial Trophy.
Originally know as the Hart Trophy, named in honor of Dr. David Hart, father of Montreal Canadiens coach and general manager Cecil Hart, the Hart Memorial Trophy honors the NHL player who has been the most valuable to his team during the regular season.
