The contest for the gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics was held 24 August at the Beijing Olympic Basketball Gymnasium.

The United States met Argentina in the gold medal game, and the US won the contest. Basketball prediction: the United States Men’s Basketball team is the winner of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Argentina won the Silver Medal and Greece defeated Lithuania to win the Bronze Medal.

The United States men, dubbed the “Redeem Team” by the press, were determined to have a better Olympics appearance than their bronze medal performance in Athens in 2004.
