NBC’s talent competition series, “America’s Got Talent,” premiered in Las Vegas, Nevada on Tuesday, June 17 2008.

Brothers Damien and Tourie Escobar, performing as Nuttin’ but Stringz, were the big winners in this year’s competition. Talent competition prediction: Nuttin’ but Stringz is the winner of America’s Got Talent 2008.

The show ran for much of the summer. Each week, show host Jerry Springer welcomed the competitors to the stage and the judges used buzzers to indicate their disapproval of their least favorite performances.

The group of talented contestants grew smaller as the season finale approached.
