The 2009 Rose Bowl game was played on the first of January, 2009 in Pasadena, California. It was the 95th time the college football game was played in the same stadium. It is the oldest bowl game in the American history still played.

Two of the leading college football teams had played in the game - Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions and the University of Southern California Trojans.
