Democrats in the state of West Virginia went to the polls on Tuesday, 13 May 2008 to express their preference for the Democratic Party’s Presidential candidate.
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York and Senator Barack Obama of Illinois squared off, campaigning for the lion’s share of the state’s 39 delegates.
Early polls showed Clinton leading Obama among decided voters, with a significant number of undecided voters unable to state a preference. When they went to the polls, the majority of West Virginia Democrats indicated their preference for Senator Clinton as the Democratic nominee for President. 2008 West Virginia Democratic Primary prediction: Senator Hillary Clinton wins the majority of delegates.
The Republican Party held caucuses on 9 February 2008; although he did not emerge from that contest the winner, Senator John McCain of Arizona appears to have wrapped up the Republican nomination.
So it be? Maybe . . .
