The second annual Setanta Challenge Cup rugby competition was held in East Hartford, Connecticut at Rentschler Field on Saturday, August 23, 2008.

The game, sponsored by USA Rugby, pitted Munster, winners of the 2008 Heineken Cup, against the USA Eagles. Munster came out on top in the match. Rugby prediction: Munster is the winner of the Setanta Challenge Cup.

Munster arrived in the US a week prior to the match and spent time in practice at Boston’s Irish Cultural Center. Head coach Tony McGahan said the team was glad for the opportunity to prepare for their regular season, which begins in a couple of weeks.
