2008 Pulitzer Prize Winners
The 2008 Pulitzer prize winners were announced on April 7, 2008. The prizes will be awarded in May on the Columbia University campus.
The winners of the 2008 Pulitzer prizes are:
The story by Washington Post about the Walter Reed Army Medical Center who was exposed by Dana Priest and Anne Hull won one of the non breaking news 2008 Pulitzer awards.
Walt Bogdanich and Jake Hooker won the investigative category for their story in New York Times about the toxin imported from China. The 2008 Investigative Pulitzer prize was also awarded to the Chicago Tribune with his reports on the Chinese unregulated products.
Charles A. Duhigg was awarded with the national category 2008 Pulitzer price for his story about the nursing homes.
2008 Pulitzer foreign news winner was Shai Oster of The Wall Street Journal with the report on the construction of the Three Gorges dam in China.
Breaking news Pultizer award was given to the story of the massacre in Virginia Tech covered by the Virginia Tech paper.
Cartooning Pulitzer prize for 2008 went to Mike Thompson and Commentary prize went to Paul Krugman of The New York Times.
