A municipal election took place on March 8, 2008 and March 16, 2008 for all municipal councillors and city mayors throughout France.
The winner of the municipal elections in Paris in 2008 was Bertrand Delanoë, the current mayor who had won most of the votes and defeated his main rivals - Françoise de Panafieu and Rachida Dati.
