The 80th Academy Awards Ceremony took place on February 24, 2008.
The nominees for the best leading actress for 2008 were Cate Blanchett for the movie “Elizabeth: The Golden Age”, Julie Christie for the movie “Away From Her”, Marion Cotillard for the movie “La Vie en Rose”, Laura Linney for the movie “The Savages” and Ellen Page for the movie “Juno”.
And the 2008 Oscar for best leading actress went to Julie Christie for her role in the movie “Away from her” who had already won the Golden Globe.
