The election for the constituent assembly in Nepal were held on April 10, 2008. Over 480 seats have been chosen by more than 17 million Nepalese citizens. This assembly is supposed to approve a new constitution which might change the way the Nepalese people know their country.

According to the results of the 2008 Nepalese Constituent Assembly election the Nepali Congress party got the majority of the votes followed by the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) and the Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist-Leninist).
