Professional basketball’s NBA West Conference finals began Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in Los Angeles and ended Monday, June 2, 2008 with a seventh, and decisive, game.

After defeating the Denver Nuggets in the first round playoffs, the Lakers met the Utah Jazz in the West Conference semifinals. Their victory in that match-up set them up to meet professional basketball’s New Orleans Hornets in the NBA West Conference finals. Basketball prediction: the Los Angeles Lakers win the NBA West Conference finals.

The Hornets defeated the San Antonio Spurs in a tough semifinal round to move on the NBA West Conference finals.

The Lakers now advance to the NBA Finals.
