The 2008 Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Championship was held Friday, July 4, 2008 in Coney Island, New York.

Last year’s champ, Joey Chestnut, managed to hold off all contenders to win the eating competion once again. Eating prediction: Joey Chestnut is the winner of the 2008 Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Championship.

The annual event, held at Nathan’s restaurant at the corner of Surf and Stillwell in Coney Island, New York, has become a favorite event in celebration of the Fourth of July holiday in the United States. Nathan’s event is recognized by the International Federation of Competitive Eating (IFOCE).
