The 2008 Moscow International Film Festival kicked off Thursday, 19 June 2008 in Moscow. The festival ran until 28 June.
The award for Best Film at the 30th annual Moscow Film Festival went to the film, “Birds of Paradise,” directed by Roman Balayan. Film festival prediction: “Birds of Paradise” is the 2008 winner of the Moscow International Film Festival.
Renowned actress Liv Ullmann was the chairwoman of the International Jury of the Main Competition (Grand Jury) which awarded prizes for Best Film and Best Director, among others.
The festival was first held in 1935. The top prize, given to the winner of the Best Film, is a statue of St. George slaying the dragon.
So it be? Maybe . . .
