The 2008 Miss World Canada contest took place on March 15, 2008 in Toronto Canada. The winner of the Miss World Canada contest will represent Canada at the Miss World contest later on this year.
The winner of the 2008 Miss World Canada contest is Harpreet Guman, a 21 years old woman and a fourth year student at UNBC, studying Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

That info is definitely wrong, Harpreet didn’t win anything here or place anywhere as a finalist or semi-finalist.

No way for leah it was all fixed like I mean she was so fake with all the girls and in image. she is a sweet girl but not her time to represent Canada. I hear she is having so much trouble now monetarily and with the whole pressure of the competition for miss world. Good for her to have won, but I think there were so many other girls who had the passion,character,personality and honesty, that needed to be acknowleged.
Bonna, I don’t know where you are getting your information from, but the person who told you that is a blatant liar, and for you to publish something like that on here makes you the SAME.
Leah won Miss World Canada based on points, granted, there were a lot of very nice girls at the pageant, however OVERALL Leah was the winner, she has the WHOLE PACKAGE, beauty, intelligence, stage presence, a great body, and AND AMAZING HEART! Lets not forget, that she want THREE out of seven categories: Swimsuit, Interview & Evening Gown.
Leah’s preparations for Miss World are coming along just fine, she is a busy traveling, making appearances, and training. Please refer to the NEWS section on the Miss World Canada website if you are in doubt; pictures DON’T LIE!!!
It seems that you are either a contestant, or the parent of a contestant, but you should take Leah’s example and use your experiences/failures, LEARN FROM THEM, and continue to pursue your dreams, just as she is doing with her’s.
I have to agree with Bonna, the Pageant was fixed and Leah didnt deserve to win. There were other contestants who truly stood out and would have gone on to Miss World to win it. Alot of people believed this. Leah is very fake and her intentions and as for a “amazing heart”, do not agree.
Looks more promiscuous in her photos than a Canadian role model for young girls throughout the country to look up to. Definetely not someone for young girls to look up to , very dissapointed in Mwc’s choice this year, oh well.
Leah worked very hard to achieve the crown. Her dedication was unrelentless. She knew what had to be done and she followed her dream and heart. All the negative comments only sound like sour grapes. Orchids to those who are blessed enough to know what it takes and onions to those who only criticize (bad kharma). Pageant’s are not fixed as the judges make the decision.
Everyone has the right to their opinion, and if you think pageants are not fixed then thats your opinion that your entitled to-but thats a very naive opinion and after being in the industry for 10 years you come to know the reality of Pageants and whats goes on. The judges may choose the winner but they are influenced and told; many things go on behind closed doors.
Leah should not even have made it to the top 5 in my opinion and I agree with CLarrisa!
