2008 Lithuania Election Results

The 2008 Parliamentary elections in Lithuania were held on October 12; voters throughout the nation went to the polls to voice their preference for leadership.

The Liberal and Centre Union Party gained momentum as a result of the nation’s current economic issues and took the largest share of the votes. Election prediction: the Liberal and Centre Union Party is the winner of the 2008 Lithuania Parliamentary elections.

The 141 members of the Lithuanian Parliament are elected to serve four-year terms. Seventy-one members are selected on the basis of popular vote, and 70 are selected based on proportion of votes the party wins.

Politicians had to address issues with the nation’s inflation rate and joblessness without having access to television and radio advertising.
