The 134th running of the Kentucky Derby was held in the early evening of Saturday, 3 May 2008 at Churchill Downs racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky. The horses left the gate shortly after 6:00 p.m.
Colonel John made a late kick on this cool, damp Saturday to cross the line first, nosing out Big Brown and providing horse racing fans a thrilling finish for this year’s “Run for the Roses.” Denis of Cork surprised the field, finishing the one and one-quarter mile horse race in third position. Horse racing prediction: Colonel John is the 2008 Kentucky Derby Winner.
Celebrated thoroughbred racetrack Churchill Downs was established in 1874 and opened for its first four horse races in May, 1875.
So it be? Maybe . . .
