The 2008 World group 1st round took place on February 2-3, 2008.
The amazing tennis games provided surprising results. The most amazing one was the sensational game between Israeli Shahar Peer and the Russian Maria Sharapova which ended with a win by the Israeli player.
The overall results of the ITF 1st round of the 2008 Tennis Fedcup are:
Fed cup Israel Vs. Russia - Russia had won after great tennis games by Chakvetadze and Safina
Fed cup USA Vs. Germany - USA had beaten Germany with great games of Daveport
Fed cup China Vs. France - A tight win to France with a good game by Dechy
Fed cup Italy Vs. Spain - An easy win by Spain
