NASCAR’s 2008 Chevy Rock and Roll 400 ran Sunday, 6 September 2008 at Richmond International Raceway in Richmond, Virginia.

Kasey Kahne, driving the No. 9 car, crossed the finish line ahead of the pack. Racing prediction: Kasey Kahne is the winner of the 2008 Chevy Rock and Roll 400.

The race lacked much of the drama frequently seen in NASCAR events, as the drivers managed to avoid a major wreck in the closing laps and finished the race under a green flag.

Richmond has a long tradition of hosting NASCAR racing events. The association ran its first sanctioned race in Richmond in 1953 at the Atlantic Rural Exposition Fairgrounds. Since that time, the D-shaped oval has been transformed from dirt track to an asphalt surface.
